THE ECONOMY OF FEAR
Friday, September 26th, 2008

The government creates and retains power and wealth by instilling fear in its citizens, fear of poverty, starvation, and death. We, the American people, are a peace loving people dedicated to the principles of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. These rights are God given. They are not granted or allowed by government. They exist with or without the presence of government. For far too long the government through the Federal Reserve has controlled the economy, through the mass media has controlled information, and through fear has controlled our actions, emotions, and thoughts. The time has come to say “no more!”

In the movie “V” for Vendetta, the title character sums up the sentiments of most Americans…”People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people.” Decades have passed since this was true in America. We, the people, have allowed ourselves to be controlled by the Leviathan state. “No more!”

We will no longer allow our fear to overwhelm us. We will no longer allow the state to use fear to control us, to rob us of our wealth, to rob us of our rights, and to rob of us of our God given freedoms.

Men and women are bestowed by God with individual liberty. We are indivduals with God given freedom. We are not to be controlled, herded, or manipulated by government.

The needs of the one, each individual, outweigh the needs of the many, in government.

The proposed federal bailout of Wall Street is a con just as every government program is a scam designed to enrich those in positions of power and wealth at the expense of most of us who struggle to meet our daily living expenses.

We, the American, people are sick and tired of…

the manipulation of our currency by the Federal Reserve for the benefit of a cartel of private central bankers which erodes the value of our investments, our savings, and our homes.

endless wars designed to enrich defense contractors at the expense of the lives of both Americans and foreigners. No one wins a war. Death is death. War, as General Smedley Butler, famously said is a “racket.” It is waged solely for the benefit of the wealthy and for no other reason.

ever increasing government spending, ever increasing tax burdens, and ever increasing promises to care for us from cradle to grave and the price for all of this? Our freedom.

the false choice between Democrats and Republicans who are controlled by the same monied interests and politically connected amoral few.

The time has come for change.

We will no longer vote for Democrats or Republicans.

We will elect Ron Paul or someone like him who espouses the values of the Founding Fathers.

We will end the Federal Reserve and once again demand that the U.S. government print and coin money as the Constitution allows.

We will shrink the Federal Government to its Constitutionally-constrained proper size.

We will no longer covertly or overtly interfere in the affairs of foreign nations for our own profit.

We will succeed because the country belongs to each one of us, not the bankers, not the politicians, not the lobbyists.

Ideas are more powerful than bullets, guns, missles, bombs, money, power, prestige, or anything else man made.

God given rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness always trump Leviathan in the long run.

We the people will no longer play the government’s game of trafficking in fear.

We will no longer accept fear as political or economic currency.

We will traffic in life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, love, and peace.

We, the people, have spoken and we will choose our own future.

As “V” in Vendetta said…

“Beneath this mask there is more than flesh. Beneath this mask there is an idea and ideas are bulletproof.”

AT YOUR "BECK" AND CALL
Thursday, September 18th, 2008

Tuesday night’s Glenn Beck TV show featured the usual hand wringing about the economy, federal bailouts, and government intervention, which initially lead me to believe I might see and hear from at least one Austrian economist in prime time but my hopes were quickly dashed when Beck trotted out Lynne Cheney, wife of Vice President Dick Cheney, to shill her new children’s book We The People.

I watched in shock but not awe as she described why it was important for children to understand why and how the Constitution was crafted. This, from the wife of a man who has spent his entire career sidestepping the Constitution if not outright ignoring it!

Perhaps Dick should be the first one to read the book, he might learn something about the Constitution, like how to uphold it.

It is rather telling that Mrs. Cheney mentioned Ben Franklin and James Madison but never mentioned Thomas Jefferson, the great patriot with the strong Libertarian impulses and convictions.

The interview lasted only about five minutes at the end of Beck’s program but never once did he challenge her about the merits or Constitutionality of the Iraq War. Never once did he challenge her about Gitmo Bay detention camp or the Federal Reserve’s bailouts of Wall Street thieves, speculators, and assorted weasels. Never once did he call her on the carpet about the so- called Patriot Act. It was a triumph of style over substance, cowardice over conviction, and ignorance over inquisition.

Toward the end of the brief interview, Beck tells Mrs. Cheney that when he met with the President at the White House, W said as President he was willing to make the kind of decisions that would make him “the most hated man in history.”

And that is what is precisely wrong with America. We need a President, a Congress, and a Supreme Court who are willing, capable, and passionate about upholding the Constitution. We need men and women who are willing to be the most admired people in history for their moral and ethical decisions based on the Constitution.

We will get it only when hell freezes over or when the majority of Americans demand it. We Are The People.
